Dear Brian,
I felt so sad when I heard the news of Linda's passing.
I was very young when my annual visits to your family began. Very early Linda and I formed a special life long bond. As children we had many fun filled summer vacations in one another's homes.We felt especially grown up when we were put on the train in either Nelson or Cranbrook to be met by either set of parents depending on the direction we were travelling. As adults we continued our sisterly connection. Whenever I was travelling through Cranbrook I would stay overnight , giving us a chance to "catch up".
Knowing I was the family genealogist Linda was able to assist me in enlarging our knowledge of our grandparents early lives in Cranbrook. For that I am grateful.
We continued to phone chat three times a year (our birthdays and during the Christmas season). I am already missing these opportunities.
I am unable to be present as you celebrate Linda's life on May 26 but I will be with you in spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Please raise a toast to Linda on my behalf.
