I am so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. We worked along side each other in the old B-1 and later on in 4 District. Dan sense of humor and willingness for practical jokes got us through a lot of night shifts. He is missed.

I was new on the job when I met Dan and we hit it off right away. He had the knack of correcting something you were doing by way of a suggestion rather than criticism. He was good natured and we shared some laughs. After retiring, I ran into Dan at Palliser lumber in Crossfield. He was operating fork lift and I was driving a shuttle bus for workers. I met Dan in recruit class as a new recruit myself in 1975. Immediately everyone in the class new he was someone special.
Well grounded, compassionate, a friend to all, good sense of humour and a passion for Policing.
We all realized we were better for knowing him and CPS was lucky to have him.
My condolences go out to his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dan and I worked together in the old days of B-6 turned B-1 in 1975 to1977 when we were both right out of classes. He was a really good partner with a ready laugh and an excellent police officer. And, in all fairness, probably the best jet black moustache in the Service at the time. Although sorry to hear of his passing, it brought back some really great memories of him and the other members of the zone under a great leader Sgt. Norm Hagstrom.
Dan was a solid copper who left a legacy of being a really competent , capable and caring man who dealt fairly with everyone.
Rest in piece Dan. You will be remembered.

I knew Dan during our CPS days, we worked together sparingly during that time and he was always a kind and considerate person.
He had the kind of personality that blended well with me, upbeat, easy going and yet always had that big goofy smile on his face.
Our paths haven't crossed since he and I retired but I'll always remember him as "one of the good guys" Rest in Peace Dan.

I worked around Dan in the 1980's when we were both Patrol Officers. He was tough with the bad guys when they needed that, and very kind to his fellow officers and the general public. I am so sorry he has left us.

I worked with Dan in 4 District in the early 80s and he was awesome. Dan didn't get too excited, he was always professional. I respected Dan as he was senior to me and had acquired a lot of knowledge. RiP Dan. My deep condolences to Dan's family and close friends. He will be missed. I often wondered where he settled and I'm glad to learn it was BC. He loved BC. He was an amazing man, a true spirit and very kind.

Dan, wasn't just my Uncle. He was the dad that God knew I needed. He did so much for so many people, especially our family. He was the Patriarch of our family. When I was pregnant with my son, I knew right away that I wanted to name him after Uncle Dan, because he was what I considered, my dad. Uncle Dan got to meet his great nephew Wesley Daniel in August 2024, 3 months before he passed away. I have a photo of both of them together, which I will cherish forever, and I will make sure that both my children know of the amazing man that was their Uncle. I am so heartbroken he is gone, and I wish I could pick up the phone and call him so often, but I know he will always be here with us, no matter what.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Dan was a fantastic friend. If you ever needed anything he was there with advice or just to talk. Or sneak behind your back and do the most selfless thing for you. Always had a lot of respect for him. We played a lot of cards together and had a ton of laughs. Miss you big time Dan!
