Obituary of Gary Leonard Peterson

Gary passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village on March 13, 2024 in Cranbrook.

He was born in Kimberley to Marvin and Evelyn Peterson. As soon as he finished school, he went to work at Cominco where he enjoyed a long career as a contract miner.

He also received a Carpentry Certificate through Cominco.

If he wasn’t working, he loved being on his tractor on the farm, where he raised kids, cows, chickens, dogs, cats, and anything that needed a home.

He lived life on his terms, and was a kind, patient man.

Gary was loved and is survived by his family, two sons Josh (Charlene), Matt (Cassie), one daughter Lucy (Ryley), wife Linda, and his seven amazing grandchildren; Emma, Hannah, Hudson, Everett, Mackenzie, Tinsley, and Bexley.

Gary is also survived by his brother Wayne, sister in law Sandra, sister Janice (Willy) Altenhofen, and by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Joseph Creek, and Dr. Lynch, for their expert care and compassion toward Gary.

Memorial donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Red Cross.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at McPherson Funeral Home Chapel, Cranbrook
