Gary, you are always in our hearts and often in our thoughts. Jim and Dianne Dentrey
We knew Gary for about 50 years and this is one of our favorite memories of the times we shared with him.
We were fortunate to have Gary come with his family to visit us at our place in Moyie over the years. When he did come for a visit, we knew Gary found it a bit difficult to be in a group setting but we were grateful that we always had about an hour sitting and talking with him.
Then he would quietly get up and wander away. Jim would give him a few minutes of alone time and then go find him. Jim always got to see Gary in his element. They would walk the whole property and Gary would point out any patches of knap weed and then he would explain exactly how to pull it so as to not spread any seeds. Gary's passion was making his (and our) world knap weed free.
Gary would make sure Jim knew he couldn’t make piles as he pulled it but right away it would have to be put in a garbage bag and when the bag was full, you have to double bag it and take it to the dump right away. Do not ever put it in the compost heap.
I’m sure Gary would be very pleased that we have a knap weed free place and we trust that when we see him again we will arrive to a knap weed free place there as well.
