Obituary of Robert Gordon Schuler

Robert “Bob” Gordon Schuler, beloved husband of Merelyn, of Cranbrook B.C. passed away January 28th, 2024 at the age of 86, with family by his side. Bob is survived by his wife Merelyn and his three children Vaughn (Joyce), Annette (Daryl) and Kevin. Also survived by his brother Dick (Brenda), Ursula(Hans, predeceased) and his grandchildren Christopher, Kalen, Liam(Cynthia), Joshua(Mackenzie), Tiffany(Benny), Kyle, Naomi(Dallas), Andrea(Dan), Barbara(Chris), Claudia, Daniel(Brie) and 11 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.

 

Bob and Merelyn were both born and raised in Big River, Saskatchewan. They were married in 1961 and moved to Canal Flats, British Columbia in 1969 where they raised their family, until later moving to Cranbrook in 2021. Bob worked as a Planerman at the mill until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, playing, coaching, refereeing and watching several different sports. He especially enjoyed golfing with his friend Terry and many others at Coy’s Golf Course. Bob was also a Boy Scout Leader and liked nothing better than a game of cards with family and friends.

As per Bob’s wish, there will be no service. His ashes will be interred at a later date.
