1981 - 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the Bertrand family announces the sudden passing of our eldest son Stacey.

Stacey was born in Cranbrook on September 4, 1981, growing up and attending school, right to graduation from Mount Baker Secondary in 1999. Stacey’s love for the outdoors found him playing baseball, hiking, golfing, camping and his passion for river fishing found him most sunny afternoons on an East Kootenay river looking for the big one. During the winter months Stacey would lace up his skates for a game or two of pond hockey with his friends. Stacey will always be remembered for his loving smile and boisterous laugh even while having a battle with painful depression, which became unbearable.

Stacey is survived by his parents Gary and Hazel, brother Jeremy (Ashley) his two nieces Lexi and Ayla plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbours. He was predeceased by his brother Warren in 2018. Our hearts are saddened, and we wish that Stacey’s memories always be cherished.

Due to Covid restrictions a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Stacey can be visited at the Cranbrook Westlawn Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Stacey's honour to the Canadian Mental Health Association to help others struggling with depression, and mental illness. https://cmha.ca/donate
