Margaret Davidson Allison Stevely (nee Gray) "Maggie" 1927 - 2019 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Margaret Stevely announces her passing on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 91 years of age. Maggie was born on the family farm in Mayook, BC on June 8, 1927. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Mayook with her brothers and sisters. Maggie was married to Doug Stevely on March 20, 1947 in Cranbrook. She was a member of the First Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band and the Royal Purple. She worked for the Hudson Bay Company from its opening through to their transfer to Zellers. Maggie enjoyed travel through Canada, the USA and Europe. She loved to bake, garden, knit, quilt and also bowled in younger years. Maggie's door was always open for coffee. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren. Maggie is survived by her son Ron (Cathy) and daughter Wendy Thom (Ron); her grandkids Grant (Jovia) Stevely, Kelly-Lynne Stevely, Colin (Jenny) Stevely, Jason (Connie) Thom and Kirsten Dunfield (Jay); 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, her sisters Eleanor Runions and Mary Clarke (Alan) and sister-in-law Ruby Gray and numerous nieces and nephews. Maggie was predeceased by her husband Doug, her brothers Tom, Jack and Ray and her sisters Ethel and Irene and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A celebration of Maggie's life will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
