Obituary of John Kenneth Murray McPherson

John Kenneth Murray McPherson "Murry" 1937 - 2019 It is with very deep sorrow that the family of Murray McPherson announces his peaceful passing at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 81 years of age. Murray was born on May 5, 1937 in Drumheller, AB. After leaving high school at 16 years of age, Murray went back to school to finish his studies and went on to College. He attended Optometry School in Oregon and then moved to Vancouver where he practiced optometry for 10 years before coming to Cranbrook and practicing optometry for another 20 years. In retirement, Murray loved golfing and travelling. He was always ready to make the next trip. Murray is survived by his wife Charlene, his son Gary (Sherri), his granddaughters Anya and Kate; his daughter Andrea (Al), his grandson Logan; his step-children from Oregon Jeff (Lisa), his grandson Grant and granddaughter Caitlyn; and Brian (Lori), his grandson Justin and granddaughter Paige; and Lori and his granddaughter Abby; and his sister Maxine Evans. Murray was predeceased by his first wife Shirley. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff for the wonderful care that Murray received. A memorial gathering will be held to celebrate Murray's life at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
