Dear Rose and family, my deepest condolences to you as you adjust to life without Jim. Jim was so alive!---with his twinkly eyes and his broad infectious smile.
One of my favorite memories is seeing you and Jim walking together at Bonner's Ferry conv. We'd meet up and talk about the scary fact that we were now the "old timers"! Not many people now-a-days know my dad, but Jim had special memories of my dad because of the strikingly similarity to Jim's grandfather, whom he loved dearly
.
I appreciated so much that you and Jim came to my dad's funeral. You played the piano including some Swedish hymns! Jim was a pall bearer, he was 24 years old. Then you came to my mother's burial, where Jim was pall bearer again. It was my desire to be at Jim's funeral, but I just can't travel anymore.
Take care Rose; I'm glad for your strong faith in God who can do all things--even that which seems impossible to us.
love, Diane Grundstrom

Dearest Rose, Ron, Todd, and Kathi ... our hearts are aching for you all in this sudden, huge loss...May you find comfort and peace today, because Jim finished, with honor, a life of faith, hope and charity. We have so many memories of our Cranbrook days - spending much time in your home, (and at the cabin!) ... always the welcome big bear hug from Jim, the warm hospitality, good food, great laughs, and deep fellowship that encouraged our hearts.
Thank you, Jim, and Rose, for being a strong part of our foundation. We won't ever forget.
Love, Bruce, Karen and family

What a great man and he will be missed by so many!
Whenever we were together, we would usually get around to talking about the many hours he and Rose spent in my parents house in Galloway and the many meals they shared around the Grundstrom table after meetings. Sharing these memories were so special to all our family as Jim was loved by all and especially my Dad, Sig who thought Jim was a very dear and special friend, which he was, to so many people.
Jim spoke many times about how he loved his camping trips to Moyie Lake and especially how happy he was when his children and grandchildren could come and join them for a day or for a weekend and the love he had for his family showed in all he said and did.
A good and kind man taken so soon! Rose, our deepest condolences to you and to your children.

What a nice picture of Jim. His wonderful smile is what we will always remember, as well as the good times we shared with Jim, Rose and family in our early years in Cranbrook, and seeing them over the years since. Such a shock to see him taken so soon, but we rejoice knowing that all his life he was preparing for this day. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rose and family.
Love, Bob and Donna K.

Marjorie and I send our deepest condolences to you, Rose and all of the family for your loss. I hadn't seen Jim for a few months so it came as a great shock to hear of his passing. Having taught with Jim at Muriel Baxter for many years and accompanying him and Dave Neil on the Grade Seven field trips to Deep Lake and Top of the World, I came to know him as a man who cared deeply about his family, and the children in his class each year. There are many fond memories from those trips and sitting around the campfire enjoying a coffee and watching the children develop a very special memory.
He will be greatly missed! Marjorie and Jim Hamilton

What a blow this was to hear of Jim's death! We were flooded with so many memories, of years at Muriel Baxter, of union times and meetings down town where we kept up with family news. Jim's big quick smile and warm friendliness are going to be sorely missed. We send our most sincere condolences and our deepest sympathies to you Rose, and to all the family. We are in Mexico and will not be able to attend the funeral, but please know we shall be thinking of you all, and share in the loss of such a special man. With our love, Sharon and Roger Granville-Martin.

We would run into Jim and Rose from time to time and though we weren't particularly close it was always easy to have a conversation with Jim. Often we would see him in his yard up Gold Creek entertaining his grandkids or taking them for a ride on his quad...
I feel fortunate to have crossed paths with him a couple of days before he passed while he was taking his grandson for a quad ride in the bush. We had a good conversation and went our separate ways. I didn't know it would be the last time.... still I am grateful for it. A kind soul, he will be missed. RIP Jim.
