Lois Helen Carver January 29, 1927 - August 29, 2017 It is with great sadness the family of Lois Helen Carver shares her quiet, graceful passing, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, August 29th, 2017. Lois was born in the North Vancouver Hospital. Her early childhood years were spent in Moyie, BC then lived in Calgary, AB before returning to Cranbrook, BC and area where she chose to truly "live" her life. From childhood to her passing she adored dancing, singing, socializing and sharing her beautiful, contagious smile. She lived a life of service. She was a forever hard-worker…not only for employers but most sincerely for family, friends, neighbours, or for anyone needing a hand up. Lois was ahead of her time as a fulltime "Working" Mom. The U & I Café, Trading Company and Woolworth's were her second family as she could not compromise her commitment to anything she did. As a proud Canadian and a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion's Woman's Auxiliary, Lois celebrated every occasion with unrestrained gusto, humbly respecting and honouring Remembrance Day with steadfast gratitude. Lois is survived by her sons Brent Carver, Randy Carver (Janine) and Shawn Carver (Alisha), daughters Vicki Stanley (Donald) and Frankie Reekie (Kelly); beloved grandchildren Linda Katz (David), Brandon Laurie (Jesse), Cameron Laurie (Rhonda), Shelby Murphy, Don Stanley Jr. (Candace), Todd Stanley (Krista), Kelly Stanley (Charlene), Carley Detta (Joe), Lindsay Reekie (Nic), Alexis Lewis (Mike), Doug Waters (Faith) and Tyler Carver. As well, she is survived by siblings Shirley Craig (Ken), Pat Horie (Dee), Malcolm Horie (Alice), Cathie Horie, in-laws Gwen Wills, Tiny Wills, Charlie Cole and 21 great-grandchildren. Lois was predeceased by her husband and partner in a hardworking, joyful life - Ken Carver, sons Danny Carver, Archie Carver, daughter Sherry Laurie, her mother Celia Horie, step-father Jack Horie, father Thomas Wills and brothers Ron Wills, Robert Wills, Raymond Wills, her sister Margie O'Genski (John) and in-laws Fran and Archie Kary. A "Celebration" of Lois' life will be held on Monday, September 11th, 2017 at the Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre, (803 - Cranbrook Street North) at 2:00 pm. One of Lois' signature styles was her love of large and unique earrings. For those of you who will be attending her celebration, we encourage you to wear your largest and most unique earrings in recognition of her passion.
