We were sad to hear that Gladys had passed away. She leaves with us fond memories of times together visiting and eating pizza, with wine of course. She was also a great cook who loved to share a meal with friends. Many a time she would send home baked pies home with us. She will be missed.

I didn't read Mrs. Scott's obituary until now so this note of sincere sympathy is posted later than I would have liked. However, I've learned too earnestly, it's never ever too late to send or receive messages of genuine compassion as this one truly is.
Doug & Mrs. Scott, as they were to us, with their most jovial welcoming greetings & laughter, behind the counter of Kings Coffee, left an indelible image on the hearts of our wee 'Scottish Clan', Mark & Lea Cameron and, back through the years, our then 3 little daughters.
To this day, Tamarack Mall evokes fond memories of that wee store that o'er flowed with the most wondrous aroma of The Best Coffee Beans in Cranbrook not to mention the intriguing selection of ingenious and novel gadgets. Our Friday nights at The Mall were never replete without stocking up on Next Week's coffee :coffee: and Doug's treat, Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans, for the eldest of our children...prompting us to buy more. :)
Of course, the fact that they & I came from Saskatchewan, your Mom from Wadena near where an Uncle & Auntie of mine farmed, added to our friendly prairie relationship. May there ever be that special bond that comes from hailing from the Prairie Provinces!
After your Dear Dad passed away, their shop closed then not long later Mark literally threw me out from life as I had known it all because of my MS diagnosis (he refused to have MS in our home), and I lost contact with your Dear Mom.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Mother and Grandmother. I know that Mrs. Scott, a very special lady, has left you with many precious memories; may they comfort you today, tomorrow and always.

Gladys and Doug were two of the first people I met when I moved to Cranbrook years ago. they did indeed have the best coffee and coffee shop! They were both the nicest people and very welcoming. Gladys and Doug you are both missed very much.

Gladys was the sweetest, kindest lady, always smiling and pleasant. Knew her and her husband from her days operating the coffee shop at the mall. She will be missed by those who had the good fortune to know her.
