Obituary of June Rosalind Sanderson

(nee Smith)

1934 - 2012

With deep sadness the family of June Rosalind Sanderson (Smith) announces the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Cranbrook, B.C.

June was born in Nottingham, England on April 23, 1934. She married the love of her life, Leslie (Sandy) Edgar Sanderson, in England on March 5, 1955 and the following year they moved to Cranbrook to build their family.

Throughout the years, June always kept herself busy making huge feasts for her family - she was especially known for her roast beef dinners, yorkshire pudding, cream puffs and trifle. She also enjoyed working at the ABC Restaurant for over 20 years. June was known for her generosity, smile, and not letting anyone go without. June had a deep love for her creator Jehovah God and looked forward to the Bible's promise of a time when there would be no sickness or death.

June is survived by her husband - Leslie (Sandy), children - Judy (John) Bezeau, Christine (Marcel) Hoveling, Don (Paola) and Tom (Rin), grandchildren - Darren, Darryl (Johanna), David, Derek (Allison), Daniel (Bailey), Jean-Michel, Jeffrey, Lindsay (Dean), and Jade, great-grandchildren - Liam, Brynn & Ivy as well as many relatives still living in England.

She is predeceased by two children - Margaret and Shirley and one great-grandchild - Kirsten.

A service for June will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - 2200 3rd Street South, Cranbrook, BC. A family gathering will be held privately afterwards.
