We are sorry we missed the gathering to remember Gib and be with his family & friends because we were unaware at the time of his passing & of the event at the Srs. hall. We knew Gib for a number of years, dating back to when he worked on the Railroad with dad, (Orphy Paulson.) He was a friendly man, always took time to chat & with a smile. I know Jean was the love of his life and he enjoyed companionship with Sonja. I would see them in a restaurant, the park and market. I know he was so very fond of his extended family. Everyone will miss him and will have fond memories. He sure was a handsome guy, (look at that smile & those eyes in the picture!? RIP Gib. We know he made a difference. With great sadness Sonja and her kids Debbie Karen and Darryl say goodbye to an amazing husband and step dad. Gib was a true blessing and such a kind gentle friendly man who cared for and loved with all his heart. Mom felt so honoured to be part of Gib's life, every day going to Timmy's at 10:00 to meet with friends then off to Walmart and Canadian tire for something needed. On weekends going for a drive to a lake or market and spending nights in Bonners a ferry. Thank you Gib for making our mom so happy over the last 6 and a half years. Soulmates forever in Love, Sonja. We are so saddened to hear of Gib's passing, We have known Gib most of our lives, first he worked with my father at CPR, and he became good friends with my father and mother-in-law later on. We will miss his smile and laughter, and we always appreciated the loads of scrap wood that he brought to Suzanne Lake when ever we were camping, He had a kind heart and when we think of him it will be with a smile on our face and warmth in our hearts. i am so sorry to hear the news of your fathers passing. Although i have not seen "Gib" for many years, i can still hear his voice from my younger days when visiting the family. I remember his 1955 or 66 light blue Chevrolet. He loved that car. I also remember when they were living on Tache Ave. and in Charleswood in Winnipeg. When they were living on Tache, he built some beautiful wood lawn chairs. I don't think i was even 10 years old then. I am sure you, along with many others will miss him dearly Uncle Ken and Aunt Evelyn.
