Obituary of Walter Robert Koppe

Walter Robert Koppe 1918 - 2016 Walter Koppe passed away at East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 98 years of age. Walter will be sadly missed by his daughter Charlotte (Carl) Larson; his grandsons Trent (Stephanie) Larson and Kyle (Leslie) Larson; great-grandson Brendan; great-grandaughters Jaella (Jace) Yerbury, Karly, Kaylin and Justine Larson; great-great-grandson Brett, and great-great granddaughter Aspynn. Walter was predeceased by his wife Marjorie of 70 years in 2010. Walter was born in Edberg, Alberta on January 21, 1918. He married Marjorie in 1940 and lived in Fort Assiniboine, Alberta. They moved to Jaffray in 1955. In 2008 Walter and Marjorie moved to Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook. Walter was a Second World War Veteran, serving from 1943 to November 1945 as a Lance Corporal with the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was stationed in Belgium, Germany, and Holland. A memorial luncheon will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sand Creek Seniors. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
