Peter H. Twarowski "Pete" 1921 - 2016 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Peter Twarowski announces his passing on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Cranbrook at 94 years of age. Peter was born on February 8, 1921 at the family farm homestead in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and his love of farming stayed with him all his life. As a young man Pete attended basic training for WW2 in Terrace and Vernon although Peter never did go to war. Instead, he went to work in the Natal/Michel Coal Mine from 1944 -1953. While there he met a beautiful young waitress named Armida DeAnna and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1945 and they raised their three children Karen, Lloyd and Daryl together. In 1953 Pete moved his family to the Crowsnest Pass were he went to work as a Carman for CP Rail. In 1956 they again moved, this time to Cranbrook, were he continued to work for the railroad until his retirement in 1983. His love of railroading was a lifelong passion. Pete was extremely hard working and while working for the railroad and in his spare time he built houses and ran a small hobby farm. In 1986, two years after the devastating loss of his wife Pete had a second chance at love when he met his beloved Marcia. They spent 25 fun years working, traveling and exploring life together. Pete loved being around people and had a great sense of humor - and often teased you mercilessly. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and was known by all for his great Crib playing ability. Pete's greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All those who met Pete all have a story to tell. He will be forever remembered and loved. Pete is survived by his daughter Karen Tarr, son Lloyd, son Daryl (Janine), 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Armida (1986), second wife Marcia (2012), brothers John and Stanley and an infant grandson. At Pete's request there will be no funeral service.
