A beautiful picture, a beautiful woman, a beautiful life well-lived. She will be missed by all. I hope that knowing that she is now reunited and dancing away with Cirello, and able to hug Eda again will provide you with some comfort as you grieve her passing. Take care, Silvana and Dina - my thoughts are with you both.
Much love, Mary Stambulic

I got to know Maria very well when my son and I came to look after Darian and Danika for a week, when they were only 5 months old! Dina had total trust and faith in me to leave her new babies in my care for that long, and that is something I will cherish forever! I can now admit, years later, I was a bit nervous to take this on. I had two children, one of which went with me, however, I had not had the experience of having TWO babies to care for at once! Dina reassured me that her mom would come around. Well, Maria came around and I was never more grateful! Maria didn't know me very well, but she made me feel like we had known each other for years! She would come during the day and help with the babies, clean, and make amazing food for our dinner! I am not so sure I would have survived that week without her! Last year, I was going through Cranbrook and stopped to see Maria and Dina. I was introduced to Dina's beautiful sister, and other family members. Dina took me to her mom, and I sat on the bed, with Maria by my side holding my hand. We talked, we laughed, we cried. That was a very special moment and I will hold it close to my heart forever. Dina, I am so sorry I can't be there today to say goodbye to your amazing mom, but my thoughts are with you, and the entire family. I love you my friend!

Our sincere condolences to you all on the loss of an amazing mother, mother in law and grandmother. We share your loss.
Auntie Mary - What a truly amazing and generous woman. Even through her hardships, she never showed weakness. Always a strong force for her husband, children and grandchildren.
Auntie you will be so very missed, especially by our mom (Ada). In mom's words "she was my sister and my best friend". Despite living in different provinces, Auntie Mary and mom, for several years (every day and sometimes twice a day), spoke on the phone. Mom planned her days around Auntie Mary's calls never wanting to miss her call. In fact, if i wanted to take mom shopping, we had to be home by 3pm for Auntie Mary's call. They spoke about everything and anything. They compared recipes and shared their secret ingredients with each other. The one thing i learned from mom through Auntie Mary is the secret to her meatballs, and did you know you can fry bacon and then freeze it and even thawed they come out crispy! I always think of you Auntie Mary whenever I have meatballs and bacon. Another one of several topics they discussed frequently, the daily news - anything that made headlines was their topic for several days until another headline came along. I fondly remember Auntie Mary and mom discussing the trial of Casey Anthony for weeks and even moreso after watching Nancy Grace! I swear those two should have been on the Jury...So engaged in the progression of the trial. They were so much alike in many ways. So much of Auntie Mary reminds me of mom. I will miss hearing about their conversations and i will cherish all that i remember about my beautiful Auntie Mary.
Silvana & Dina,
You are equally amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that Auntie Mary is looking down from above and smiling. Not only for the reason that she has reunited with Eda and Uncle Cirillo, but that she has left this earth peacefully knowing that her legacy will live through you. That was evident in how you cared for her - with every ounce of love and devotion, especially during her lengthy illness.
My wish for you both is that every time you think of Auntie Mary, that you feel the presence of her spirit around you, and may it bring a smile to your face whenever you feel her. I wish you both strength at this time and to cherish the beautiful Legacy Auntie Mary leaves behind.
Love always,
L

Beautifully written obituary tribute, emanating in detail the beautiful and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend Maria was to so many. Near, far and without us. My condolences to Vana, Jon, Candice, Kyle, Morgan and to Maria's siblings and their families who are all left to mourn Maria's passing. Most heartfelt condolences to Dina and her children whose commitment, devotion and caring for her parents was paramount all of her life. Candice, Kyle, Morgan, Austin, Jason, Eric, Krystal, Ashley, Darian and Danika - you are all so very blessed to have such a special Grandmother. She always spoke of her grandchildren with such pride and happiness.
In sharing a Memory: When my Mom was in labour at the hospital with twins in 1981, I remember Maria would come see her a lot, any chance she could while at work and often bringing her treats Mom wasn't supposed to have. I recall, quite vividly, my Mom squirming in pain, shouting colorful words in broken English and Italian. Maria's words of encouragement would be "C'mon, Carmela, you've been through this before, you are going to be fine!" We all knew that Maria helped my Mom during labour and delivery and realized several years after Maria was her birth coach. My Mom always remembered that.
Several years after, in February and March 2014, Maria had visited my Mom in hospital. I was there one time when Maria recounted the story of Mom's labour, they laughed and cried. Maria asked me to get a cup of ice-chips. I thought she wanted something to drink but in fact, Maria took the plastic glass of ice chips and with her hands gave them to my Mom. Maria told my Mom, "Do you remember me doing this a long time ago Carmela? C'mon Carmela, you will get through this."
May you be at peace and surrounded by your husband and daughter, Maria. You will never be forgotten.
Silvana, Tim and Family
