Obituary of Kevin Patrick McCormack

1932 - 2012

With heavy hearts the McCormack family lost the ultimate character, Kevin Patrick McCormack, on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 79 years of age.

Kevin was born on September 9, 1932 in Bray, Ireland. He came to Canada in 1957. He was a hurling star in his youth and he loved hockey. Golf was his passion and he was the Cranbrook Club Champion in 1973. Kevin was a true character with uncanny wit and was a terrific singer and entertainer. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Mil, his family James (Judith), Kevin (Gillian), Mike (Patti), Patrick (Debbie), Maeve (Fred), Maureen (Len), Sean (Arlene), Sheila, and their mother Maeve Hayward, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Mil's children Jean (Brian) Jensen and family and Gordon Hogg. He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret McCormack.

A memorial service for Kevin will be held in the McPherson Funeral Home Chapel in Cranbrook on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Kevin may do so to the: Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013 Stn BRM B, Toronto, Ontario, M7Y 2L3.
