I worked with Peter, and will never forget his coming to the rescue of this newly-single woman who was now tasked with home maintenance issues. He came over to my house one day and immediately went to work, solving the problem. He even offered to remove and re-install a toilet, when my son and I installed new bathroom flooring.
After his retirement, it was always a pleasure to catch up with him, as he occasionally came into the office for meetings related to his passions for the outdoors and all who inhabit it.
Because he had truly been such a friend to me, when I was struggling, I can never forget his kindness and concern for me. I was fond of him and will miss his ready smile and laugh.
My condolences to Maureen and his extended family - his early and unexpected passing is a great loss to so many.
Leslie Askew, Cranbrook.

It was with profound sadness when we heard about Peter's passing. When told that he was strikened while hiking in the mountain made me think that he was in his life's element! I had the privilege of meeting Peter on several occasions in Cranbrook and treated to great hospitality in his home (along with Maureen) and as well with several adventuresome road trips through the local mountains. These are memories that last forever. Then to top it all off, we were able to reciprocate with a visit from Peter and Maureen last autumn at our home on Cape Breton Island. We also got to celebrate their momentous anniversary here too. So to Maureen and family our sincere condolences for Peter's passing. I know we never had enough time to know him better; but just to know him and experience just a little of his lust for outdoor life is in itself very satisfying.

I am so sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I remember the delightful time I spent with Peter clearing the Pea Vine Trail in South Star. He told me about the forest plants and how he loved being outside. When we were still in Cranbrook he came to our house for a visit, at the time we had a robin's nest in our carport. It was one of the topics we discussed on that visit. He talked about you and his family, how much he loved each one of you so much.
Since moving to Canmore, I became a friend of Peter's on Facebook where he posted his marvelous photos of the birds and other views he saw while tramping around in the forest.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, his loving family. I will truly miss our Facebook conversations. Much love to all of you, Nancy Jackson

Maureen and family, please accept our sincerest condolences on your loss.
It has been too many years since I last had the opportunity to talk with Peter. It seems like the more birthdays we have, the quicker time passes. I have fond memories of our time working out of the Cranbrook Environment office. But even before that, meeting Peter at Kaiser Resources (BC Coal). I know Peter had an incredible faith in Our Lord and is probably sharing with Him the best hiking trails.
May the Lord bless and keep you in His loving embrace!
Hugs from Rolly Grimm and Sharon Andres

We both have many fond memories of Peter. We have never met anyone else who had a pet duck! I always enjoyed singing with him, and Tom remembers many hikes in the mountains with Peter. We are so sorry for your loss and send our heartfelt condolences.
