Michael, Phillip and family: I worked with your Father in the courts, and had the distinct pleasure of temporarily acting as his secretary for a short period. He was so easy to work with, and always the consummate gentleman
I left to work elsewhere - but we would occasionally run into each other at Woodland Grocery, and I was always extremely flattered that he would stop to chat and ask me how I (and my Mother and late-Father) were doing. His interest was always so genuine.
I will always remember him as an exceptional man, and I consider myself fortunate to have known and worked with him.
My condolences are with all of the extended family who will miss him so greatly.
Leslie (Hamilton) Askew, Cranbrook

Only now have I learned of Mike's death, so although this is a late recognition, it is a sincere statement of respect for Mike's personality and his work. When we came here my husband, as a brand new lawyer, regarded Judge Provenzano very highly. Over the years, it is clear that he contributed greatly to our community.
I send sympathy from all my family. Anne Edwards.

Dear Micheal, Philip and all the Provenzano families,
Lee and Mike were appointed to the County Court the same year. The Provenzanos became our special friends from then on. We enjoyed their company and loved seeing them. Mike was a great guy. My deepest and sincerest sympathy to all.

Michael and Phillip,
My thoughts are with you and your family as you adjust to life without your Dad/Grandfather/Uncle.
Memories are a precious gift he has given to so many of us.
Some of my special memories include getting rides to the North Star ski hill, many summers at Monroe Lake on each other's dock and watching the infamous orange paddle boards coming down the lake, celebrating Christmas Eve together, and more recently, enjoying a plate of pasta with Uncle Mike :-)
Hugs coming your way:-)

Sorry for your loss Mike and Philip. Your Dad was a very gracious gentleman. He always had a big smile and a wave. He always gave me a quick update on you both and the grandkids. The neighborhood is not the same since he moved. He will be missed. Diane (Wood) Matchett

So sorry to hear of Mike Sr.'s passing. I was glad to have run into you recently, Mike. I have wonderful memories of the Sundays Paul and I spent out at Monroe Lake water skiing and enjoying family dinners while living in Cranbrook so many years ago. Also glad Mom and I stopped in at the lake while driving through to Alberta 7-8 years ago - we were lucky enough to see Phil and family too!
Your dad was a kind, fun-loving man and your parents always made us feel like part of the family. Condolences to you, Mike and Phil, and your families.

Our Uncle Mike was always up for fun, whether at the cabin on the lake or the ski trips we took with the 2 families. I can hear his booming laugh. He was always a dear friend to our mother. Big hugs to Mike and Phil. Cousin Jill

I have such fond memories of 'Uncle Mike', as we affectionately called him.
The Miller clan learned to water ski at Monroe Lake as Uncle Mike generously towed us with his big boat which was so much more fun than our fishing boat powered by a 10 hp Evinrude engine!
He built us wooden paddle boards that lasted decades. We were stand up paddle boarding long before it became the craze it is now :)
We enjoyed so many meals down at the Provenzano's cabin at Monroe where I learned how to properly roll up spaghetti on my fork. I still do it that way to this day.
He leaves a great legacy of kindness, humour and of course, those great sons.....
We will miss him.

I had the pleasure of knowing the Judge though out my youth and as an adult.I looked forward to chance meetings with the Judge and he always had time to stop and say hello and ask and listen to how things were. He would share how Phillip, as he always referred to Phil, was doing in Japan and the next time he would be home. Mike always made you feel comfortable in his home, where as teenagers we often went to shoot hoops in the driveway and pool in the basement. Our condolences to Mike and Phil and their families.

Barb and I send out condolences to Mike's family on his passing. We talked to Mike in the hospital on Oct 15 when Barb was getting chemo. I first met Mike in 1963 and have always had a lot of respect for him as a judge and a person. May you rest in peace old friend.
