Obituary of Hazel Margaret Dezall

1913 - 2012

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Hazel Margaret Dezall announces her passing in Cranbrook, British Columbia on January 2, 2012 at 98 years of age.

Hazel was born on July 2, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta. Hazel was first of all a wife and mother.

Hazel was active in her church and it's activities. She was a leader in the CGIT youth group in the church as well as an active member of the ladies auxiliary. Hazel was a lifetime member of the hospital auxiliary and spent many hours in the gift shop and thrift shop. Hazel was one of the first to live in Joseph Creek Village, moving in before it was finished.

The family would like to give a big thank you to the staff at Joseph Creek who always gave her excellent care and attention. Thank you also to Dr. Lenz for his years of care and the staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital who made her last days comfortable. Last, but certainly not least, to the paramedics who "toured" her on her trips to the hospital. She loved you all.

Hazel will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Swenson (Gary), son Jim (Judy), son Allen (Pat), sister Doris Moore, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Dezall and her brother Frank.

A memorial service for Hazel will be held in the McPherson Funeral Home Chapel in Cranbrook on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Her Interment will take place immediately following the service. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Hazel may do so to their charity of choice. No flowers by request.
