The first time i ever spoke to Maureen was to arrange a surprise visit to my Mum (Doreen Dowse - nee Coyle) from her school days in Workington, England. Maureen, daughter Nichole and family were over in England for a family wedding and decided included a visit to Mum, Maureen and Doreen hadn't seen each other in well over 45 years, corresponded only by letter (which where always read my family over dinner) so this visit was going to be memorable. The first 5 minutes of Maureen and family arriving at my Mum & Dad's were moving to say the least, hugs and words of "i can't believe you're here" were repeated several times. They both had lots & lots to catch up on, so several hours, many pots of tea and lemon cake and pizza later and they still were'nt done. Sadly the time had come when the family had to say their farewells. Sadly my Mum passed on in November 2010 but was so happy that she'd finally got to see Maureen. Suffice to say they can now see each other when ever they like.
Heaven has a new star to light our way.
I'm also happy to have met Maureen and her family and hope to stay in touch with Nichole as much our Mum's did
