Obituary of Ernest Frank Thompson

1932 - 2011

It is with great sadness the Thompson family announces the passing of Ernest Frank Thompson, "Ernie", born at St. Eugene Hospital, November 24, 1932, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Dad worked at CPR at an early age and was a heavy duty mechanic but spent most of his working years driving truck mainly for Miller and Brown and then Crestbrook (Tembec), retiring in 1994. He loved camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ray, son Pat (Melanie), daughters Sue (Dave) Hale, Diane (Keith) White, Lori (Al) Tiggelaar, 8 grandchildren: Sandi Hale, Trish (Darrell) Miller, Dale Thompson, Misty (Pete) Leibel, Heather Murdoch, Marnie White, Bob (Kelly) White, Brenda Murdoch, 7 great grandchildren, his brother Bill Thompson of Nanaimo, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Willie. Ernie was predeceased by his parents and one son William Frank Thompson "Billy" in 1996.

A memorial service for Ernie will be held in the McPherson Funeral Home Chapel in Cranbrook on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm. His Interment will follow the service in Westlawn Cemetery.
