Obituary of Catherine Alane Spooner

Cathy passed away peacefully at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 47 years of age.

Cathy was born in Cranbrook on April 2, 1964 to Alan and Karen Gordon. She graduated from Mount Baker Secondary School in 1982. Cathy was self employed as the owner operator of OJ's Hotdog Stand in the Cranbrook Mall for 17 years. Most recently she could be found greeting people at her lottery kiosk in Safeway. Cathy loved the outdoors and when she was not supervising the 'Cardiac Crew' she was hunting and enjoying the Kootenay Valley with her friends and family.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband Darryl, daughters Amanda and Brittney, granddaughter Zoie, father and mother Alan and Karen Gordon, father and mother-in-law Tiny and Noreen Spooner, brother Jim (Donna) and their children Kashtin, Coda and Jaydan, brother-in-law Brian (Lori) and their children Kaitlin, Garth, Adam, Milissa, Gage, Kaydin and Maddison, sister-in-law Sharon (Trevor) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friends.

A memorial mass for Cathy will take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook (1100 - 14th Avenue South) at 11:00 am. Those wishing to make memorial donations in honour of Cathy may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
