Sue and family,
We send our sympathy to you and your family. We seem to be like long lost cousins, but I have often thought of you when we drove past Jim Smith road. We lived in the Okanagan and Arrow Lakes country, and our son and his family live in Montana, straight south of Lethbridge, so we traveled through Cranbrook at least 2 or 3 times a year, but never really had the time to detour off the main road.
We trust that God will be your strength and peace during this time.

My sympathy to Robert's family on his passing. I knew Bob for many years, through my work at the Crestbrook and Tembec shipping offices. His words every day upon entry to the office were: "Well, are we on schedule?" He always made us laugh. I am glad to have known him.

My thoughts are with Sue, Micheal and Michelle on the loss of a great husband and Dad. Robert was a wonderful man to know. I have many good memories of him and Sue in our Galt School of Nursing days and following reunions. I remember his passion for race car driving.
I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the service on Monday.

Sue, Michael and Michelle.
Our memories of Robert will remain. Our family visits with Robert and family, when we traveled west, were memorable and we recall enjoying his humor and laughter. We especially recall the good times water skiing and playing horse shoes.
Their only trip to Ontario was via Manitoba where his experiences caused him to remark: "The mosquitoes in MB nearly carried me away alive!" The result: no more visits to ON.
We extend our sympathy and pray that the Lord will comfort you, give you His peace and surround you with His love.

I am sending this note with heart felt condolences at the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. My grandmother was Frances Fellger who was a sister to Walter Esser. I am sad that my family never kept in touch with your family as it sounds from the obit like he was an awesome man I would have loved to get to know. Hoping you find peace in your memories at this time!

Sue, Michael and Michelle. While it was many years since we were all in touch, Bob's guidance from 45 years ago has been a guiding light for me and now my family. Our time together at the "66" will never be forgotten and I cherish those memories.
Sincerest condolences.
Levon and family.

Uncle Robert will be missed from all of us in Manitoba. Even though we were not able to visit often, you were in our thoughts and prayers. You always had that great smile as though you had a secret. Robert spoke often of you as one of his favorite uncles and missed the times of stopping in after a day of hiking. Thank you Aunt Sue for always welcoming us in your home.

Bob was a source of many fun memories while our families were growing up together -whether it was conquering the home made disc he made, albeit sitting on a lawn-chair while being pulled behind his boat at Christina Lake or sticking our heads out his camper roof while on our road trips to Disneyland - thank you Bob!
Always a special place in our hearts.......
