As I watched the mist on the corn field outside my window this morning my memory travelled back to 1977 and watching the mist rise over Lake Sagamesing in Northern Ontario with Granny. We spent two Springs together at my uncle's lodge and camp getting it ready for the summer season. We loved watching Spring creep slowly up the hills surrounding the lake, at first just a veil of green and over the weeks becoming a deep lush green. The loons called constantly and a flock of evening grosbeaks came each year too. Granny and I planted a flower garden each year. One morning we were excited to see a spot of purple up the steep hill outside the lodge and I scrambled up to pick a solitary lilac blossom for the table. We were Thrilled! I remember driving over an hour to the nearest city to celebrate her birthday at a Chinese Food restaurant, stopping to pick wild daisies and black-eyed susans on the way. We always seemed to laugh alot! She loved nature and classical music, doing word puzzles and playing cards. She had a positive outlook on life and loved adventure. Even though it was her time to go, it is still sad and I will miss her. She is in a wonderful place of peace and health and happiness now and I look forward to catching up with her again in heaven. We will plant some flowers, bake some bread, watch some birds and worship the Lord together.
Good bye for now Granny. May God bless us all!

Mom was a caring soul. God put her on earth to make a difference and that she did. She was a very loving person and always helping someone. She was always generous and ready to help anyone. Mom had a great sense of humour. She always liked a good joke or to play a prank on someone. She once put a raw coloured egg in the bowl of Easter eggs. She nursed an injured pigeon back to health. It never left and became a family pet called Peegee. She was hard-working and never idle, always baking, mending, cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Now Mom you are with Jesus and loved ones that went before you.

I will always remember my grandmother as being someone who used the gifts that God gave her....her hands were never idle...always knitting, crocheting or sewing for the benefit of others....she was very humble......and always so greatful for everything she had...she will be missed by us on earth but so happily received by those in Heaven that went before her....may we see each other again one day!
