Obituary of Anna Mary Balding

1927 - 2011

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Anna Mary Balding announces her passing on April 29, 2011 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 84 years of age.

Anna was born on March 17, 1927 in Yahk, British Columbia. Her family moved to Cranbrook and Anna worked as a waitress and as a hair dresser. In the fall of 1946, Anna was married to William James Balding in Cranbrook. Anna showed an interest in youths and became a Leader for Girl Guides of Canada. She also enjoyed bowling and working on the family tree with her sister Jeannette.

Anna is survived by her granddaughter Jasmin MacDonald of Calgary; her sister Jeannette Lanthier of Cranbrook, her brother Paul (Chloe) Perron of Victoria, her nephews David (Faith) Lanthier, Don Lanthier, Wesley Zimmer, Rick Zimmer, Leslie Zimmer, Tom Zimmer, Peter Perron and Randy (Louise) Perron. She was predeceased by her husband William James Balding who passed away on August 22, 2005 in Cranbrook and her daughter Carin Anne Balding "Carrie" who passed away on March 28, 2003 in Calgary.

A memorial service for Anna will take place on Friday, May 6, 2011 at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook at 1:00 pm. Her Interment will follow the reception.
