Obituary of Francesco Santoro

1929 - 2011

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Frank Santoro announces his passing on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 82 years of age.

Frank was born on January 23, 1929 in Ruvo Del Monte, Italy. He was a very wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, and had a wonderful sense of humour. Frank was a true gentleman and he will be sadly missed by his family.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Maria Leida of 55 years; daughters Margaret (Santoro) Salvatori and son-in-law Dr. Vince Salvatori; and Rosa Santoro and son-in-law Danny Santoro; two grandchildren Paul Santoro and his wife Leanna Alicandri and Carmela Santoro-Taylor and her husband Matthew Taylor; sisters: Rosa Maruggi of Cranbrook, B.C. and Maria Santoro of Rapolla, Italy; brothers: Gerry Santoro and John Santoro of Cranbrook, B.C., Joe Santoro of Niagra On The Lake, Ontario, and Tony Santoro of Sicily, Italy, as well as many sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Margherita Mungiello, father Vito Santoro, brothers Michele Santoro and Giovanni Santoro.

Prayers and rosary for Frank will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 7:00 pm. His funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 11:00 am.
