Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Volk
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with our deep sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Volk announce that she passed on December 31st, 2024, at 9:55pm surrounded by her loving family.
Mary is survived by her husband John Volk, daughter Sherry Volk, son Chris Volk, daughter in law Jayne and grandsons Hunter & Mason.
Mary and John recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, dancing in the kitchen to “Look At Us Now” by Vince Gill.
Mary’s career was at the Royal Bank in Cranbrook, sharing her charm with customers and colleagues alike.
Mary volunteered throughout her community and is a life member of the Hospital Auxiliary with over 25 years of service.
Mary and John’s winter retirement years were spent in Arizona at Rock Shadows Resort. In the summer their days and nights were spent at their RV site at lake Koocanusa, fishing their days away for Kokanee Salmon.
Mary Sold her freshly baked bread to friends and proudly saved every cent to buy their Zodiac.
Mary was visually impaired but that didn’t stop her from baking treats and bread to share with all her stellar neighbors and friends. Mary loved to walk in her Willowbrook Community, ensuring that all the dogs along her way got treats.
Mary’s infectious smile never left her face, and she passed while telling us how lucky she had been throughout her life.
She has gone to her yellow rose at Heaven’s Gate with massive, extraordinary angel wings.
May you rest in peace with all our love never leaving your soul.
It was Mary’s wish that memorial tributes be made in the form of a charitable donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
