Fred helped me buy my first house when I moved here in 1987. Always available for my questions and became a friend with other business. He was a true gentleman, kind and caring. My sincerest condolences to Marion and family.

I worked with Fred at CIBC in Cranbrook for many years. He knew all the customers and they all wanted to be looked after by him. My husband and I were best friends with Fred and Marion we had many great times between square dancing and card games and of course going coffee/tea once or twice a week. We moved to the coast and kept in touch for a long time coming back to Cranbrook for weddings we surprised Fred and came back for his retirement party. My husband and Fred and Marion had a special bond.My condolences to his family whom I know he loved very much. And a special message of love to Marion ❤️

I remember meeting Fred when I first came to work for CIBC in 1976. He was a warm and caring person. When he took you under his wing, he made sure that you would be able to fly without him. He really cared about his fellow employees and his many clients. His wonderful sense of humor will be missed and to this day, the sound of his laughing rings in my ears. I remember the love and caring he had for Marion And how proud he was of his children. Fred, thank you for so many wonderful memories and I know you will be missed. My life has been enriched by having known him even a small amount of time.

As a kid I always looked forward to when Uncle Fred would come and visit. He was so much fun and really seemed to enjoy entertaining us kids.
Lots of laughs for sure!
I loved going for rides in his red VW beetle!!
As an adult I loved that he made the effort to stay in touch and was truly interested in my children’s lives.
He will be missed.

Marion, Kelly, Patricia, David and families,
Our hearts are broken: Fred was my big brother, my play friend when we were children, my protector when we were teenagers. He was my best friend. We will miss him greatly. Love Laurie and Betty

I was so very sorry to hear that my old buddy Fred had passed on. Fred was such a kind man with a big generous heart! Family and friends were everything to Fred and he made sure we knew that. He was always so involved with community. Always looking for ways to help and to be a part of things. I had the great fortune to be a part of Fred's musical world. He loved music and we spent many a practice and performance together as part of The Purcell Mountain Boys. Fred tought me so much about the history of country, folk and rock and roll music. He was such a joyful guy with that great big laugh of his! I sure am going to miss you old friend. Keep the beat until we meet again. Dwight Tardif

Our family has so many happy memories of Fred and Marion. Fred loved playing his drums and percussion instruments while
Performing with the Purcell Mountain Boys, they played for many events around the area including the Christmas dinner for seniors at the Columbo Lodge. Fred loved house parties, our little group, in the early days, (1989) included the Richardsons, Murphys and Skrettings had such fun, there was always good food, great music and lots of laughs. We will miss you old friend, RIP

Remembering Fred’s belly laughs and sense of humour. He and Clay and my dad were so mischievous. Thanks for the brilliant memories and the sage advice through the years.
