Obituary of Russell Spurr
Please share a memory of Russell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Russell Spurr on October 15, 2024.
In Russ‘s earlier years he had a passion for motorbikes. He enjoyed taking them apart, rebuilding and then riding them. His dream bike was a Honda CBR 1000. He had an amazing talent with creating and building things out of wood. He used to love tinkering with vehicles and working in his yard. He also enjoyed gazing through his telescope at the stars, going on road trips, watching horror movies, and camping with family.
Russ was a very compassionate giving person with a great sense of humor. He got more joy at a giving than he did receiving. He was the pillar and protector of his family, fearless. Nothing was more important to him than the people he loved, especially his kids.
Russ is survived by his wife Trena, their two sons Chance and Bryce, his daughter Lynsey, his three brothers Brian (Deb), Wayne (Shirley), Pete and a half brother Reece. He also leaves behind to miss him, his nephew Jared along with many other nieces and nephews, friends and care workers.
Russ was predeceased by his father Brian Spurr, mum Gwen Fanshaw and his oldest brother Steve.
A Celebration of Life in Russ’ honour and memory with be held on October 24th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at McPherson Funeral services in Cranbrook.
Memorial donations in Russ’ name may be made to your local animal rescue society.
The Spurr family would like to thank the nurses, respiratory therapists, and doctors for all their compassion, kindness and care that they gave to Russ during his time in ICU.
