Obituary of Kevin Ernest Cloarec
Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On August 27th, we said goodbye to our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend Kevin Ernest Cloarec. Kevin was born in Cranbrook BC on January 9th, 1956 to Leon and Jean Cloarec and passed away in Okotoks, Alberta.
Kevin attended school in Cranbrook. He started his working career with CPR in the East Kootenays. He then moved to Mackenzie, BC working in the Pulp and Paper Industry for several years. Next, he decided to relocate to Calgary, Alberta where he completed his electrical apprenticeship. He then moved to Campbell River to live and work at the pulp mill in Gold River. When the mill in Gold River shut down, Kevin moved to Gibsons and began working at the pulp mill. His next move was to Fort McMurray where he worked for many years in the petroleum industry before retiring.
Kevin had many interests including scuba diving. He received his basic training and then went on to earn his “Advanced Open Water Diver” certificate. He also was very interested in flying helicopters and began training while he was living in Campbell River. Unfortunately, he was not able to complete his training because of the high cost. Kevin had a love of fast cars and owned a “Mustang Mach 1” and a “Corvette Stingray” at different times in his life. Kevin enjoyed sports of all kinds, including playing sports when he was younger and cheering on his favourite teams later on in his life. Another interest Kevin had was travelling and he made several trips to Hawaii and Mexico which he greatly enjoyed.
Kevin loved animals and had a beautiful collie dog named Beau. He also rescued an abandoned kitten named Dallas. These animal friends had a huge impact on Kevin's life and were greatly missed when they were gone.
Kevin will be missed by his sister Wendy Revie (Rob) and his brothers Derry Cloarec (Molly) and Don Cloarec (Laura) and by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Lorraine Lyster and family and to the staff of Foothills Country Hospice for their care and compassion.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents Leon and Jean Cloarec, niece Tracy Hutchinson, nephew Brett Taylor, aunts and uncles Leone and John McLellen, Betty and Herb Conroy, Don Carroll, Clarence and Shirley Cloarec and Josephine Smith.
In order to honour Kevin's wishes, there will be no service.
