Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jane Madeleine Chernenko, who left us peacefully on July 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on June 23, 1947, Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Jane was the devoted mother to Brad Chernenko, Cindy Chernenko, loving grandmother to Danaka Chernenko, Jeremy Chernenko, and Travis Chernenko. She was a proud grandmother, and her love for her grandchildren was boundless. She is also survived by her siblings Christine Burke (Garry Burke) and John “Book” Lelievre (Penny Lelievre), along with Penny's children, many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and grand nephews and Non-living-together partner JD Denis. She also leaves behind numerous cousins and extended family members in British Columbia, New Zealand, and Guernsey.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, John (Silver) Lelievre and Kathleen (Judy) Lelievre (Barnett), and her husband Walter Gerald Chernenko.
Jane was known for her infectious laugh and her ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and welcome. She loved spending her Tuesdays on the golf course with friends and Wednesday afternoons dining with the ladies at The Fenwick and Baker. Hosting dinner parties and creating joyful memories with her family were among her greatest pleasures.
Jane’s passion for travel took her to many corners of the world, but she held a special place in her heart for New Zealand and Guernsey. Her support for her children and grandchildren was unwavering, whether as a hockey mom, dance mom, or a cheerleader for any endeavor they pursued.
In honor of Jane’s life and legacy, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Jane’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
