Dora Spooner (nee Misuraca) was born in Blairmore, Alberta. She was the 7th of 9 children of Vincenzo and Maria Misuraca. She married Newrick (Rick) Spooner on February 21, 1948. The moved to Cranbrook in 1955. She was active in the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years, Dora and Rick were very active community members. She owned and operated Orange Julis, (OJ’S) in the Cranbrook mall from 1976 to 1992 when nephew Darryl Spooner took over.

Dora is survived by two daughters Judy (Bill) Littlejohn and Gay Lynn (Allan) Gerlinsky both of Cranbrook. Her Grandchildren Laurie (Jay) Lightburn of Jaffray, Christie Littlejohn of Cranbrook, Ryan (Bobbie Tindale) Roller of Kamloops, Lee (Kathryn) Roller of Burlington Ontario. Christe (Curtis) Roux of Grand Prairie Alberta and Ammi (Myron) Dirks of Kelowna. Great- Grandchildren Matthew (Cianna) Lightburn in Jaffray, Chase (Hailey Searle) Lightburn, Brian and Braden Miscampbell, Kobe (Paityn Clowers) Roller, Kayden and Keira Roller all of Cranbrook. Weston and Rae Roller in Burlington Ontario. Own and Ashlyn Roux in Grand Prairie Alberta. Great – Great Grandsons Tate and Teel Lightburn and Beckham Roller. Dora is Also survived by her brother Armand Misuraca and sister-in-law Noreen Spooner, and many nieces and nephews.

Dora is pre-deceased by her husband Rick, Parents Vincenzo and Maria Misuraca. Brothers Francesco and Stephen, sisters Caterina, Faustina, Assunta, Barbara and Yolanda.

We would like to thank the palliative care team for their support and kindness. A Memorial Mass will take place Friday September 20th, 2024 at Christ The Servant Parish in Cranbrook at 1pm.
