With heavy hearts the family of Lorna Red Fawn Gene Felix announces her passing on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC, after having suffered a severe stroke.

Born on June 15, 1944, in Cranbrook, BC, Red Fawn is survived by her loving husband Nato Mato Felix, sons Richard David D’orazio (Raven) and Rodney Allen MacAloney (Spotted Eagle), and grandson Harley Daniel D’Orazio. Red Fawn is predeceased by her granddaughter Haley Forest D’Orazio,

Red Fawn is remembered and honoured for her loving nurturing of those around her and for her unwavering devotion to family. She shared her artistic creativity through her many skills: cooking, drawing, sewing, quilting, beading, dream catcher and jewelry making. Red Fawn has a reverence for tradition, protocol, and ceremony that showed itself in her very way of being. She seamlessly interwove her indigenous heritage with her exemplary faith in Jesus.

Red Fawn is a natural born leader. Her purposeful, meticulous way of doing things made everything look easy. She will always be in our hearts but has left a large void in our lives.

A funeral service will be held at McPherson Funeral Home, 2200 2nd St South Cranbrook, BC, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday September 18, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Red Fawn may be made to a charity of your
choice.
