It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our son and brother Markes George Parkyn.
Markes passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2024.
Markes was born April 1st, 1961, in Natal BC.
Markes joined the army as a member of the 3RCHA-G Battery, (Gunner Parkyn) at the age of 17 and was stationed in Shilo Manitoba for a term from 1978 -1981.
Markes had many jobs, starting with surveying with Chevron. He was also an ambulance attendant, and a very well-respected roofer.
Markes greatest joys were treasure hunting, being in the bush and making memories with his friends.
Markes is survived by his mother Mary Parkyn, Sister April (Greg) Dettling, Sister Wendy Leader (Howard), Brother Todd Leader, Sister Heather Leader (Frank) as well as many nieces, nephews and great niece's and nephews.
Please come and join the family to celebrate his life on August 31st, 2024, at the Cranbrook Hotel at 3 pm.
We welcome any and all stories you all may have of Markes. Also, if you would like to bring your instrument to jam or to play it is also welcome.
You will be forever loved and greatly missed.
Rest in peace soldier your tour of duty is complete.
