Obituary of Bruna Maria Feregotto
Please share a memory of Bruna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bruna Maria Feregotto announce her passing on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at the age of 87.
Bruna was born in Gemona, Udine, Italy, where she spent her entire childhood along with her siblings. As a young adult, she moved to the big city of Milan where she grew an appreciation for fashion and decor. When she was 26, she met and married her husband, Nilo Feregotto, and the two of them immigrated to Canada to start their life together. They chose to settle in Cranbrook where they raised their three children: Paola, Giulio and Sonya. While creating a loving and happy home, she started a career at the Cranbrook Hospital where she worked for over 20 years and made many friends.
In her spare time, Bruna enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and cooking. She loved to host large family and friend gatherings where she would make many dishes that became everyone’s favorites (these will be missed). Her creations generously flowed to others in the form of meals, knitted blankets, and special recipes (although vaguely described to keep you coming back, and never perfectly duplicated). Bruna was happiest with a house full of loved ones telling stories of the old country, and she had a sense of humour that can only be described as cheeky and contagious. She will be remembered through countless memories of quality time and laughter with her family.
Bruna is survived by daughters Paola Miller (Randy), Sonya Connah (Allan), her son Giulio Feregotto (Garna), grandson Aaron Connah (Tammy Schuk), granddaughters Devon Davies (Bryan), Taylor Gottfred (Andrew), and Hunter Perpelitz (Bryce). Great-granddaughters Dailey, Aria, Austyn, and great-grandson Erik. She is also survived by her brother Tino, her sister-in-law Ida, and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy and Belgium. She is predeceased by her husband, Nilo, siblings Constantina, Paolo, Giovanni, Rosina, and parents Lino and Lucia.
A Memorial Mass for Bruna will be held Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook. In Lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Bruna can be made to the Parkinson's Society of British Columbia.
