Obituary of Norma Tironese

Norma Tironese, passed away peacefully at the age of 97, in Cranbrook BC on January 18, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was just 3 days shy of her 98th birthday. 

Norma was born in Tivoli, Italy on January 21, 1926, where she lived until moving to Cranbrook BC in 1963. She spent the next 60 years in Cranbrook but always missed her family and friends in Italy. 

Norma enjoyed spending time with family, tending her flower gardens and being outside in the warm weather. She will be remembered fondly by all those who had the honor of knowing her. Whenever anyone stopped in to visit, you can rest assured they never left hungry! Her beautiful smile, kind and caring nature will be missed by many. 

Norma is survived by her husband, Fred Tironese, son John (Shelley), daughters Bre and Lucy, grandchildren Kerri (Ryan) and Matthew (Madison), and great grandchildren Brayden and Amelia, as well as brother-in-law Gigino (Grazia) and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Above all else, she loved her family fiercely. 

Norma was predeceased by her parents Pietro and Geltrude Poggi and her brothers Angelo (Nella) Poggi and Mario (Gina) Poggi. 

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for those who took such great care of her, Dr. Witten and all the amazing nurses and staff at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

A Memorial Service in Norma’s memory will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 3^rd, 2024 at St. Mary’s Parish, 39 10 Ave S, Cranbrook, BC V1C 2M9.
