Obituary of Barbara Dale Keitch (Gordey)

Barbara Dale Keitch (Gordey), 71, passed away January 2, 2024 in Kelowna after a swift battle with cancer.

She was born on June 10, 1952 to Peter & Mary Gordey in Murrayville, BC. Barb grew up on the family farm in Cloverdale, BC and graduated from North Surrey High School in 1970. She went on to BCIT for administrative training then worked as a secretary in downtown Vancouver.

She married Steve June 30th, 1973. They lived primarily in the Lower Mainland, and moved to Terrace in 1988 before finally landing in Cranbrook in 1996. 

Barb enjoyed caring for and spending time in her garden and was president of the Cranbrook Garden Club. She was an animal lover, owning many dogs and cats through the years. Most of all, Barb loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; she will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her spouse Steve, children Christopher (Stephanie), Justin (Lorene) and Sean, and grandchildren Maddison, Emily, Isaac and Promise. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary, and her beloved sister Delores.

Memorial donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society. An open reception will be held at the Cranbrook Alliance Church on Saturday, January 13th from 1:30-4 pm.
