Joseph Clayton Allen “Peter” McMahon
“Peter”, a longtime resident of Cranbrook married his sweetheart, Gwen, in 1960, where they raised two sons, Brent, and Brian. In his younger years, Peter enjoyed camping and fishing and tinkering on his projects in his spare time. Peter worked as a welder at the Elko Saw Mill for much of his career where he was affectionately known as “GoGo”. He retired in 2003 and enjoyed golfing, working in his shop, Sunday drives after church with Gwen, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Most recently, Peter happily welcomed his first great grandchild, Christopher, into the family. Peter always had a smile and a kind and encouraging word for all. He was positive, warm hearted and saw the best in everything and everyone. Peter will forever live on in our hearts and will be sorely missed. “See you at the movies, Pete!”
Peter is Survived by his loving wife, Gwen, sons Brent and Brian (Jodi), Grandchildren Lauren (Matthew) and Michael (Summer), great grandson, Christopher, brother Bunker (Gail) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter was Predeceased by his Father Arthur, Mother Florence, brothers Pat and Michael, sisters Colleen and Maureen.
There will be a small private family service at Brian and Jodi’s home.
