Obituary of Fiona Millar

It is with profound sadness that the family of Fiona Millar announce her passing on Friday Sept 8, 2023, at her home in Windermere B.C. Fiona began her journey on July 21, 1955, In Calgary Alberta. She grew up there, after high school moving to Vancouver to attend UBC where she would graduate in 1977. Following her graduation Fiona moved to the Valley where she would be joined by her parents following their retirement.
Fiona was introduced to her love Doug in 1982 and they were married a year later. After Fiona and Doug were married, they packed up and moved back to Calgary for better working opportunities. Shortly there after they welcomed their daughter Lana in 1987. After living and working in the big city for a while Fiona and her family moved back to the valley which they loved so much. She truly enjoyed being a part of her community and spent many hours helping out at the Windermere School and helping some of the seniors living in Windermere. Fiona will be remembered for her sparkling eyes and warm laughter. She had a huge heart and loved her animals, especially cats. Fiona also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her greatest love was her family.
Fiona is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Doug Wilfley, and their daughter Lana Kerr (Spencer) and grand children Owen and Evie, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is predeceased by her mother and father Joyce and Roy Millar and brother Douglas.
A Celebration of Fiona’s life will take place Sunday Sept 24th at 2pm at The Windermere Valley Golf Course.
