Murray was involved in our life from as far back as my memories go, I remember when He came to visit us in Prince Albert, He picked me up from school when I was in grade one. He was driving his friend's MGA with the roof off. for me He was always the fun happy cool Uncle. On our trip to Ontario from Nanaimo in the 60s, when we arrived in Ajax there was a brand new 3 speed bicycle waiting there for my use, metallic green with a banana seat, at the end of the vacation Murray had it shipped to Nanaimo. Every Christmas we were always looking forward to the package from Murray and Grandma, we always knew it contained the latest and greatest toys from Eaton's department store. Even though He lived half way across the country His visits were always a high point in my life whether we were backpacking, skiing or just spending time together Murray was always the relaxed fun Uncle that we all wanted to spend time with. I will miss Him and remember Him often. Our condolences to the family, Hugh Armstrong

I worked with Murray over at Bruce Nuclear. I was the singing Electrician. Murray always had a pleasant disposition; it was a joy to work with him; the smiling picture of him is exactly how I remember him. Although he was the forman, he was always congenial and collegial. I was always glad to see him. That's a pretty good legacy to leave with your workmates. When I saw his picture in the obits, i exclaimed, "Aw! Damn!!"

A wonderful Uncle to me, Great Uncle to my kids and a great (and patient) Brother to my Dad. Our family has many fond memories of our times with Murray, EJ and Family. Whether it was in Owen Sound, Brampton or BC, we always enjoyed our visits. Murray always had such a pleasant and positive nature about him which makes for so many wonderful memories. So glad that we had the chance to spend a little more time with him and his family while in Ontario.
Our Love and condolences go out to Emma Jean, Connor and Trisha.
Love, Bob and family

I have many memories of Murray/Bumpa ❤️ One summer, our town bookstore in Maine was changing companies, and they were having a huge sale. Murray & EJ took Cierra and I to look for some books. I remember walking back to find Murray after browsing the aisles, carrying a basket with two books in it. He told me to go back and get a few more with a wink. Murray would always wink letting me know it was just between the two of us. I left the store so happy with my new books. It was a great time shopping with our generous grandparents.
I remember all the Christmases together, even the one with no power for days. The one time we all tried ice skating, and the other one time we all tried snow shoeing. CeCe and I were never the outdoorsy type, but Murray made it fun. Memories of CeCe riding around on her Barbie Jeep with Murray chasing her, and taking a walk together in the woods behind the house to the perfect hill slope for sledding. Murray was there when Connor brought home our sweet baby pug Sophie. He also grieved with us when we lost our rabbits on Thanksgiving. When I was really little, I remember he used to pull a quarter out of my ear, which made me laugh. I also loved swimming in their hot tub at the house in Owen Sound. Murray & EJ had these reusable, colorful plastic ice cubes, and Murray would walk out to the hot tub, plop a couple in my glass of water, so I felt like I had a ‘fancy’ drink too.
I didn’t get to meet my grandfathers on my Mom’s & Dad’s side. But God gave me the best step grandfather possible. I love you Murray. I hope it’s snowing in Heaven some days so you can ski, and get to be with your parents & brothers again.
Sending my love to EJ, Aunt Trisha, and the girls ❤️
Love Always xoxo -Lindsey

Aunt EJ, Trish, Connor & Family - we were so sad to hear about Uncle Murray's passing.
He was such a light and cheerful man and would do anything to make you smile. The last time I saw him, he was in the store having coffee with Dad. When I came in, Dad got up to go to the bathroom and Uncle Murray looked at me puzzled, carefully sniffed his sleeve, looked back up at me and cracked a joke "well it's not me (that smells)". They were, and always will be, the best of friends. I hope they are up there enjoying lots of breakfast dates together. I will remember him always for his positive and happy presence, and his big hugs!
Thinking of you all through this difficult time <3

E.J., Connor and Trisha and family, we were so saddened to learn of Murray's passing......looking back on all the good times we have had with you folks, starting in the Owen Sound apartment in 1974, the fun times, the golf games, the canoe trips, cottage time, apple and rhubard custard pies, suppers, card games and the "Murray, I am going home now, with Murray replying....okay", then Murray taking the shortcut across the Catholic tennis court much later and the "tip toe" hugs....all such good times and we thank you. So please accept our deepest sympathy and remember all the good times to help you through this difficult period. Murray will be missed......love and hugs

Murray and I were teenage buddies both in high school at the time. We chummed with a group and Murray and I stayed close friends through our whole life. Visited each other, him in Owen Sound and me in Ennismore. I recall getting their wedding invitation and when I arrived home from work my wife said you'll never guess who's getting married. When we met E.J. we both said what a great couple they make. I was saddened to get the phone call from Emma Jean and we shortened our conversation a s we were both crying. I can't recall a more genuine person in my whole life and a caring faithful friend.
