So many words could describe Agatha (Katie) Neu, no one word could capture her essence - unless it was caring…she was a devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Great Nana, Great Great Nana and friend to many, a great cook, seamstress, keen fisher person and a devoted dog lover.
Born in Romania in 1926, Katie immigrated to Canada with her parents. She lived in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia from large cities to small hamlets. She liked the wide-open spaces and was a farm girl at heart, but once she saw the Rocky Mountains she knew she was “home” with her husband Peter, of 73 years she raised a family of 5 children and rose above life's many challenges along the way, her deep faith giving her strength and solace.Katie rejoiced in simple pleasures, time with family, good friends, and good food. She was a beauty inside and out.
Katie left a legacy of laughter, memories, family, and love.
Mom, in the future we will look to Heaven and find your guiding star.
Katie leaves to mourn her Husband Peter of 73 years, her sons Mike and Jack, her daughter Cathy, 10 Grandchildren,13 Great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, Katie was predeceased by her daughter Jamie and son Dan.
The family would like to thank the many doctors (especially Dr. Pieterse) nurses and staff at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital who cared for Mom over the years, McPherson Funeral Home for their guidance and support and the numerous family and friends who so generously gave their time and assistance.
