My wife and I (Peter & Nadia Davis) just found out a few minutes ago of Yme's passing. I was about to include his email address into an e-Christmas card, when Nadia came across his obituary. Rev. Yme conducted our wedding service at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Geraldton, ON on July 12, 1986. I remember Yme peeling me off the basement ceiling just before coming upstairs to march down the aisle in readiness for the wedding ceremony. Yme commented favourably on the aroma in the sanctuary of my Uncle Fred's wine that was used during Communion. Yme indeed stretched our Spiritual awareness and his line in the announcement sheet of - Come to church, you never know what it may lead to - was very inviting, guiding and inspirational all at once. Rest in God's eternal bliss, Yme, you are greatly missed and very fondly remembered.
PS - Cute - I had even billeted with Yme in Geraldton for a time, and I recall Yme answering the phone on day and saying - Yme here - and his hairdresser on the other end said - I'm a here, too! Ha, ha!

Yme married us on June 20/2020 at our most special place . His words he delivered to us at our ceremony were nothing but true kindness and love . He touched every soul at the wedding and brought great laughter as well . He told us that our wedding was the last event before he retired. We stayed in contact and loved our visits ,even if they were on the phone . We will sure miss him . Be with God .

Yme was an incredible minister who had a tremendous influence on my life. he was so articulate and knowledgeable. As I moved from Vancouver to New Westminster, BC where I could not find a local church that interests me. My BFF, Sharon Bell, introduced me to his weekly sermons/newsletter.
It has became my church. As I was a history major at UCLA, I appreciated his historical knowledge of church history...the good, the bad & the ugly. I have passed his words on to friends many times.
Although I had never met him, seeing his photo made me smile & think of Santa Clause. I am sure he had fun with that!
May the Lord bless and keep you Yme.

We remember Yme during his time at Chalmers Presbyterian Church in London Ontario in the mid1990s. We were fortunate to have him lead our wedding service and we loved his preaching. Sympathies to Yvonne and Jonathan and their families. Todd and Brenda Webster.

I so sincerely appreciated the great goodness of Yme for his clarity re the really important things about life, shown by the way he engaged with me and others whenever met with a caring presence; by his commitment to social and ecological justice; by his intelligent, perceptive writing in the diocesan newspaper…a priest for his flock, yes…but with his very Christ-like sense of the world outside the church, so needed by the world. I give immense thanks for the witness of Yme’s life of goodness, which has made such a positive difference to all who were privileged to know him. I’ll always remember him with gratitude!

I was the Diocesan Treasurer when a fund raising campaign was started. Yme took charge and lead the successful mission with sensitivity, tact and kindness.
He enlarged the Cranbrook congregation by his charisma and vision acknowledging their importance and encouraging them to use their full potential in their Christian Life

Yvonne and Jonathan, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your Dad showed me around the Diocese when I first arrived in BC.
He enjoyed retirement more than anyone I’ve ever met! We quipped and argued with one another, always with love and respect.
His loss is felt by many and may you receive some comfort knowing how much he was, and is, loved.
May Yme rest in peace, his memory always a blessing.
With Love, Andrea+

Yme has left a huge hole in the soul of our community. He was a good friend. I miss him deeply. Our discussions were always rich and meaningful. His perspective was always appreciated and provoked pondering another viewpoint. Yme’s contribution to our wider community cannot begin to be measured. It was a prayer he gave at City Council years ago, about Martin Luther King that touched me so deeply, I ended up going to Christ Anglican Church for several years, until his retirement. Divine Mother has picked him up and carried him to the Light. Rest in peace, Yme. Whenever I think of you, you are there - never forgotten. Sharon Cross
