Obituary of Donald Stepney

Donald Gary Stepney was born on Sept. 5, 1941 in Vancouver BC, to Barbara and Donald Stepney.

He moved to Cranbrook in 1974 with his wife Joan Stepney, where he began managing Williams Moving and Storage. He later purchased the business in 1982 and so started many new business ventures. Gary was actively involved in the Rotary Club and Kinsman Club over the years.

His passions in life were his wife Joan, spending time with his grandkids, countless hours of teasing and trying to take people’s money on the golf course, and playing cards. He was the number one spectator at all the horse events that Cory and Addy competed in.

Gary is survived by his son Cory, daughter-in-law Christy, and grandchildren Addison and Jax. Also brother Gordon (Barbara), Judy (Bruce Bell), and Allan (Kim) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gary is predeceased by his wife Joan Stepney and parents Barbara and Donald Stepney.

A celebration of life will be held for Gary from 3-6 pm at the Cranbrook Golf Club on Sept. 23, 2023.
