Obituary of Tom Walmsley

On May 17, 2023 Tom Walmsley, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away.

 

Tom was born in Greenwood, BC on July 2, 1934, the second of 6 children.  He moved to Cranbrook at the age of 3 and never left. In 1959 he married Alice Mesenchuk, and together they raised three daughters.  Tom’s love for his family and his kindness and generosity were surpassed only by his strong love for Jehovah God. We will all miss his smile, his sense of humour, playing cards and other games, and just being with him. Many people who met Dad called him “such a good guy”.

 

He will be forever in the hearts of his children Carol (Wayne) Michel, Lee-Ann (Allen) Crane, and Janet (Michael) Pinchin; his grandchildren Amy Spence, Andrea (James) Carrie, Matthew Pinchin, and Colton (Sheona) Pinchin; and his great grandchildren Parker and Brynn Spence, Carter Pinchin, and Cassidy and Braiden Carrie.  He was also looking forward to meeting his sixth great-grandchild in June.

 

Tom was predeceased by his wife Alice, his parents Bill & Virginia Walmsley, and his brothers John and Doug. He is also survived by his brother Gordon Walmsley and sisters Doreen Rooney and Diane Johnson along with many nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held by Zoom on Saturday, May 27 at 2pm MDST. Anyone wishing to receive the Zoom credentials may do so by sending an email to lvcrane79@outlook.com.
