FANNY HALL (FISHER)
December 13, 1925- May 17, 2023
Mom’s 97 year journey has come to an end; passing peacefully on May 17th in Elk Valley Hospital. That journey started Dec 13 1925 in Baynes Lake. She was the 4th of 5 children born to Joseph & Emily Fisher.
She attended school in Baynes Lake, Waldo and Fernie. Growing up during the depression, she and her friends spent most of their time swimming in Baynes and Surveyors lake and biking around the countryside. In 1944 she met and married Stan Hall of Sand Creek . Gayle was born in 1946. David came along in 1954 and Heather completed the family in 1965.
Mom worked at various jobs including a sawmill worker, nurse’s aide & bark plant worker but her most fulfilling job was being an excellent homemaker. She was the hub that the family gathered around and the glue that kept us all together.
She was very giving of her time and compassionate about her family and community. She volunteered for the UCW, Ft. Steele Heritage Town, Sand Creek Seniors and was a Sunday School teacher for more than 25 years. In 2008 she received an award from RDEK for Volunteer of the Year.
She enjoyed travelling, going to the casino, playing crib and was still waiting for the “29” hand. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived and loved by daughters Gayle & Heather, son David (Michelle), her grand children Sheila (Lee), Cameron (Jennifer), Chelsea (Jamie) and Savannah (Nathan), as well as great grandchildren and even great great grand children also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Joe & Emily Fisher, husband Stan, brothers Tom, Joe and Harvey Fisher, sister Florence Salanski and daughter in law Annie.
We would like to thank Dr Ashley Bakker, the nurses and staff at the Elk Valley Hospital and home care nurses Karen and Colleen for their excellent care of our Mom.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to McPherson’s Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 25th at 1:00 pm in the Jaffray Community Hall. Mom’s ashes will be interred at Sand Creek Cemetery.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
