My Mom, Cathy Bacon, met Reta in Kimberley when they were in their 20’s. I would hear about all the wonderful times they had skiing, hiking and their fun memories of their youth. They continued their friendship with their families, getting together for ski trips and summer adventures. I will always remember Reta’s contagious laugh, wildflower photography and beautiful letter writing. I admired the beautiful friendship she had with my Mom and they continued to make each other a priority with letters and visits well into their late 80’s. Our deepest condolences to Joyce and Denise and family. Love Jill Herlihy Wilson, All Bacon and Garth Bacon.

My sincerest condolences to Denise, Joyce and the rest of the family on Rita's passing. She taught me in some classes in Canal Flats and thats where i first got to know the Lemaster family. My wife Isabel and I played badminton with them when everybody was in Cranbrook and they were a tough couple to win over. Over the years we would meet up on the street or downtown and always had time for a chat to catch up. Im very sorry that I missed the funeral as I only found out after the fact. Again sorry for your loss she was a great woman.

I met Reta when I started playing the piano for "The Singalongers". She helped put together the song binders for that group. I also had the privilege of golfing with her at Coys and at Mission Hills. One afternoon I went with her to see the family property at Canal Flats. The love shone from her eyes as she explained that "her Bob" had cut every log, then built the cabin. May memories of happy family gatherings comfort you at this sad time. Judy Johnson

I'm so sorry to hear of Reta's passing. She was a wonderful classy lady. The last time I talked to her was at Dairy Queen where she was having a sundae with a friend. Reta and Bob were fantastic skiers, who loved the powder and steeps at Fernie Alpine Resort.
My condolences to her family.

A good friend and neighbour.
Many good stories about the area shared as well as the many wildflower walks!
Always so proud of her family and the many things they were involved in.
A long well lived life, she’ll be missed.
