Obituary of Jean Lucy Bennison

Jean Lucy Bennison nee Gilchrist Nov 30 1925 - June 23 2022

 

In the wee hours of June 23rd Jean Bennison, nee Gilchrist was finally reunited with her husband Howard Bennison. 

 

Jean so loved her family, and spent her entire life dedicated to caring for them  in several ways, which included being an avid knitter, baker, gardener, seamstress, and true companion to all. Jean was member of the UCW, and the Cellar in Cranbrook, and the Women’s league.  Jean was always up for an adventure whether it was a hike, or a drive to Mexico. Jean is predeceased by her brother Carroll Gilchrist, and her mother and father Albert and Lucinda Gilchrist.

 

 Jean will be remembered dearly by her family Ken Bennison (Marlene) Robert Bennison (Pauline) Dan Bennison , April Norris (Tyson), Maryjean Vachon (Steve) Patrick Bennison, Sean Bennison (Kate), David Bennison (Katie), and several great grand children .  

 

Jean lived a wonderful and full life, and was very social and caring to all. The internment will follow in September of 2023, where she will be laid to rest on the Manitoulin Island, where a graveside service will be held.  The family wishes to thank the wonderful, compassiionate nursing staff at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital  2nd floor, for their kindness in such a difficult time.
