One year today Barrie. You got up and asked for your usual cup of coffee, a normal day. No one suspected anything. You faded unobtrusively quietly and quickly. No disturbance, trusting yourself to those who loved you. I was so bewildered as I was losing, had lost you, but very honoured and proud to be with you. We have all had a year to examine our loss, being without you, missing your twinkle, missing the exasperation of you, your knowledge and advice. Your interest and interruptions, your questioning and questions. Me, I am still bewildered, full of pain and grief, disbelief at the 364 days and counting of no Barrie. You would be amazed at how often you fill the minds of those whose lives you touched. I know mind my and heart are full of you daily. Always with love. Denise

I miss and love Barrie deeply and always. He lived life every day, took his licks and resurfaced unfazed. He forgave, gave multiple chances all without lasting condemnation. Barrie firmly believed everyone had innate redeeming qualities. This belief dictated most of his decisions. Barrie’s true legacy is forbearance, forgiveness and faith. He showed me this every day, I try to live up to these standards. Mo Chridhe
