1939 - 2022
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Kathleen Barbara Mary Lang on March 11, 2022, at the age of 82 at the Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, B.C.
Kathleen was born August 6, 1939, in Wainfleet, Ontario. She is survived by her sisters Rosemary Bonisteel and Colleen McMaster; brothers Terry McMaster and Stewart McMaster; daughters Robin Churly, Janet Kisinger and Koreen Naugler; son Jon Lang; her five grandchildren Christa, Kate, Melissa, Evan, and Marcus; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Elwood Lang in 1985, her five siblings William McMaster, Patricia Hamm, Maureen Hines, Brian McMaster and Iris Patton, and her parents David and Agnes McMaster and nieces Cheryl Hamm and Tiffany Hines.
Kathleen came to Cranbrook in 1981 with her family and this eventually became her forever home. She was a special person with a unique zest for life. She loved her birds, both domestic and wild, as well as singing and listening to gospel hymns. She was a dedicated craftswoman and spent many hours knitting her signature slippers for her family members. Kathleen was also very proud of her Irish roots and took joy in being in touch with her widespread family. She was long a volunteer at many of the city’s thrift stores. And she loved her church family at the Cranbrook Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Kathleen’s memorial service was held at the Cranbrook Seventh Day Adventist Church March 16, 2022, and interment at Westlawn Cemetery followed.
We thank the caregivers at Joseph Creek Care Village for their loving tending to her as she eased out of this life.
Kathleen will be missed.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
